No stopping our Geers brothers

There is no doubt, the Basket Range C Grade are back and finals are on the cards! After 3 losses under 20 runs in the last 4 rounds of competition the Super C's bounced back to hammer Bridgewater 10/55 v 3/211. Joshy and Seb Geers were well supported by Old Man Bahr, Killer Curnow and the Gock as the super attack proved a force with the ball skittling Bridgey in 25 overs. New player Aaron Anderson was on fire with gloves and a credit to the recruiting skills of Josh Schiller. With the bat it was yet again the Schiller show early in the piece as the worlds worst bowler slapped up a solid 65. Bahrsy also did his bit scoring 28 before Patty and Killer came to the crease, both falling just short of the half ton to finish the innings with scores of 49* and 44*.

Over at Forest Range the D Grade fell just short of top team Uraidla posting 209 as they tried to chase down the home teams 4/231. Responsible dog owner Colin was led with the ball, the muck hole master keeping the run rate down on the postage stamp ground to take 1/23. With the bat Veteran Westy and tattooed thug Brett Chandler were impressive opening up with 61 and 57 in a 104 run partnership and the Ranges looked like they might chase the target down, however the runs started to dry up as wickets fell, Russ's 23 and Jimmy & Col's 21's not quite enough. Against the top team it was a solid effort and the boys are all keen for to take on Uraidla once more in the regular season as well as the finals.

While Berza and Sammy are still to come back into the squad after a week off its sad to see that Dougy will be away working for a couple of months. The club wishes him luck and we all look forward to his return in time for finals. Both teams are now looking good and keeping finals hopes alive and the club is in a strong healthy position. The C grade have the bye this week and the D's are back at Happy Valley. Its a good time to get behind the lads!
