Round 4 saw a bye for the D Cups while the Super C's played away,  taking on last years B Grade Premiers. Mylor won the toss and decided to bat on a deck which looked better than ever. Fielke & Bawden got the Pipers off to a cracking start however in the 15th over Seb 'Fabio' Geers but struck for the Range, grabbing a couple of wickets and tying the home team down to 2/65 at drinks. After the break the boys continued to bowl tightly, restricting the Pipers to 7/140 after 40 overs. Fabio was the star with the ball, smashing two maidens and claiming 2/19 from his 8. Spence was pick of the fielders running back and taking a dive to claim what will be catch of the year.

After his efforts with the bat Bawden made a solid start with the ball, grabbing a couple of early wickets to see the Range 3/25 early in their knock. The worlds best dressed cricketer Andew Brown stuck around as others fell and made a very important 24 as the Range pushed towards the Pipers total. The run rate however needed to lift...... Enter SAM BUTTON. Sammy went to town on the Mylor attack making 25 in a vintage Button innings! But it was too little too late and when Spence was run out for 23 it had become clear the Range would fall agonisingly short, the difference at days end.... 16 runs.

It certainly wasnt all doom and gloom however. The C's remain 2nd on the ladder... as do the D's in an adjusted ladder (one which takes into account the withdrawal of the 'Fake Range' from the comp). Next week the Supers look to bounce back v Mt Lofty at Lords. The D Cups tackle Bridgey at Aldgate Primary School.
